Theme Tweaks, Tag Cumulus, Twitter !
Theme Tweaks
Since I’ve upgraded this weblog to WordPress 2.8, I’ve been involved into opening the php files of this RGB theme to make some tweaks.
After 2.8, my sidebar was frozen. As it is an essential part of the theme, I decided to look for another one, which I did fairly quickly with greyville.
Even if I was missing the colorset, I was really enjoyed by the readability of the new theme and some options in the sidebar.
In the same time, Ozh was fixing the RGB sidebar issue.
So I swiched back to RGB but with the idea to improve the whole clarity, using some greyville features.
I changed the font, the font size, the items inside the sidebar, I’ve added the number of comments of my posts with direct link to them.
I’ve never wrote a single line of php, but I found it pretty easy to read. I know I can’t write anything by myself, but I can copy / paste things effectivly.
I’m happy with this modified RGB theme now. I still have to try to change the colors, but it’s less an issue.
Tag Cumulus
Yesterday while browsing on PCWorld.fr I saw the flash WP-Cumulus plugin and I found it very nice and clean.
Is it superfluous ? Completely.
Will it improve the trafic on waldar.org ? Absolutely not.
But eh, that’s my blog and I find it lovely !
It only took me five minutes to insert it into my sidebar instead of the regular tag cloud.
I’m really impressed by all this WordPress friendly-userness since I began this blog.
I’m trying this twitter thing since a month. I’ve got the same opinion on it that I’ve got on Facebook : funny, have some uses but I’m in no way in adoration.
Maybe I’ve missed the whole point.
Waldar account is already taken by someone else, too bad.
So I did a little trick that a friend did on gmail, replacing the W by two V.
That’s not perfect but it will settle it : my twitter account is VValdar.
To be honest, I’m not sure to give regular updates, we’ll see if I’m hit with any twitter awesomeness.
