Hiya my fellow reader,
It’s been quite a long time since last post ! I didn’t abandon the blog, but I had to face lots of situations which required my focus.
Now, summer is almost back and most of my problems are solved !
So I plan on posting again here, my todo list was something like 14 posts long, but most of them are outdatted – lots of TSQL Challenge ;).
But some of them are still good to be written, like part2 of jaro-winkler !
If not done, you should subscribe the RSS feed : it’s way the best option for this blog with, well, no regular content !

Theme Tweaks
Since I’ve upgraded this weblog to WordPress 2.8, I’ve been involved into opening the php files of this RGB theme to make some tweaks.
After 2.8, my sidebar was frozen. As it is an essential part of the theme, I decided to look for another one, which I did fairly quickly with greyville.
Even if I was missing the colorset, I was really enjoyed by the readability of the new theme and some options in the sidebar.
In the same time, Ozh was fixing the RGB sidebar issue.

After being very whiny, Ozh send me some corrections in the php header and sidebar files.
I could revert my theme change back to the dark and red layout !
It’s funny how in only two months I could be involved in a visual relation to this blog.
But those three days with greyville taught me that I have better readability, and my sidebar can also be improved.
I’ll try to dig this subject whenever I’ll have some spare time.

Even if I did like very much the old RGB theme, mostly due to the red lines breaking the dark grey and white colors, I upgraded this blog to WordPress 2.8 and I had the bad surprise to have my sidebar broken.
Having absolutely no idea on how to fix it, I’ve looked after another theme.
My focus when finding a theme is first to be easy to use and easy to read.
I really don’t appreciate overcharged nor overcolored content when reading something.
As a blog beginner I really don’t need most features other blogs possess, two columns is nice for me, and fixed width is better for reading purpose in my mind.

After chatting a while with Ozh, I crossed the line and registered today a domain name with a serious webhoster.
In 2009 this is extremly common, but it’s like I’m being proud of myself, to see my pseudo looking over the Internet and claiming : “Now, I can live” (isn’t that sound a bit geek ?).
As the past news, this one is more about the site on which I’m getting familiar with… I can also publish one more news with this nice RGB theme.
